Our Story
Jonathan Moeller’s path to becoming one of Colorado’s most recognized deck builders began with his grandfather, a skilled carpenter who first put tools in his hands. After trying college and realizing it wasn’t the right fit, Jonathan embraced what he’d known all along: working with his hands was what he was meant to do.
He started his career in remodeling, eventually launching his own business in Illinois. When he relocated to Colorado, he worked alongside his brother-in-law in a reframing business before branching into contracting work on basements and backouts. Everything changed when he built a deck for Van Dyk Construction. After completing that single project, Jonathan knew he’d found his calling.
What drew him to deck building was the honesty of the craft. With decks, your workmanship is completely exposed. There’s nowhere to hide, and that transparency resonated with Jonathan’s commitment to quality. He began focusing on custom decks and new construction, and in 2020, the Mountain Living Project became the company’s first major breakout project.
